Welcome to 101 things to do with kids!
My name is Lindsey and I have been writing this blog since April 2014.
101 things to do with kids is all about the things that we do together as a family. I wanted to show people that you don’t have to be a supermum to have fun and be creative with your little ones.
I am certainly not an accomplished writer and a previous attempt at blogging was intermittent to say the least!
But what I am, is really passionate about this blog.
It is my youngest baby and I have loved (almost!) every second spent working on it, playing with it and watching it grow.
So who are we? Well, I am a busy 30 something year old, married mum of 2 gorgeous, but demanding children, who manage to drive me insane most of the time! I also work full-time managing a pub in the heart of the University of Warwick campus and blogging is a great release from it all.
Hubby is a chef, although after many years of working ridiculous hours whilst I was at home with the children, he now has a fantastic job that allows him to be at home in the evenings and weekends. He is not so keen on my blog!!!
And the monsters? Well we have a 7 year old girl and a 4 year old boy. Occasionally they can play nicely together but more often than not, they are to be found fighting like cat and dog and at each others throats!
It turns out that children are hard work (who knew??!) and being a parent isn’t all that easy! They are demanding, they are energetic and they constantly want things.
My pigeon pair love making things, baking (anything with chocolate or sugar) , playing indoors and out, running me ragged, conning me into buying them magazines and plastic tat and a whole multitude of other things.
There are some rare moments when I feel like a fab mother – mostly when I am not working and have the time and energy to get organised, to make “a plan” and when we do “stuff” together.
Then there is the rest of the time – well perhaps it would be best not to mention these moments in too much detail…but suffice to say I am tired and grumpy and have a pretty short fuse.
And so it was because of this- because I would like to have more good days and less unmentionable ones – that I decided to start this blog and fill it with what we do – interspersed with some random ramblings from me on our life.
Admittedly my kids and hubby are now forced to endure me photographing and commenting on pretty much every move they make, but I guess that comes with the territory!
I hope you enjoy reading our blog and come back and visit us again 🙂
