On Saturday evening we headed to Kenilworth for the annual round table fireworks display at Kenilworth Castle.
Rachel had been at a party in the afternoon, so the minute she walked in we rushed to get her changed and ready to stand in a field!!
We have never been to a fireworks display as a family. Rachel went to one last year with Daddy and Grandad, but Jack was a bit young, so we had stayed at home. So as you can imagine, we were very excited!
We found somewhere to park on the outskirts of Kenilworth and walked about 3/4 mile to the grounds.
We arrived at about 6.30pm, by the time we had walked across and joined the throngs heading into the grounds.
The field was very muddy to say the least but we had our wellies on – prepared for once!
But even better than being prepared, we managed to get front row seats to the display!
The display itself finally started at about 7.15pm. By this time, Jack was tired and wanted to be held, and Rachel was thirsty, tired and grumpy!
But the display cheered her up – although it sent Jack to sleep on my shoulder!
It lasted maybe half an hour and was brilliant!
