A chilly afternoon in the Park
Well, after being cooped up inside for days, this afternoon, (Uncle Andrews birthday), as the sun was shining we wrapped everyone up and headed to the War Memorial Park.
Well, everyone except Daddy who wanted to stay and watch the football in peace!
It was lovely out and although it was chilly, it was lovely to get everyone outside and enjoying the freedom and fresh air.
We strolled down past the War Memorial to the playground.
Then it was a case – as is the easiest way with my two – of dividing the children and taking it in turns to follow them around the playground.
Rachel headed first for her favourite, the high log and rope course.
Jack headed for the slides and swings.
After a while, Jack decided he needed the loo, so we walked over to the café to the toilets – where he immediately asked for ice-cream. Ice-cream, really???? In this freezing weather, I don’t think so!
When we rejoined the others, Rachel was on the double swing and wanted Jack to get on so they could swing up high!
Jack soon tired of that and had a run around up and down the slopes – with me yelling to him to be careful every couple of seconds as it was still a bit icy.
We let them play for a bit longer before calling it a day and heading homewards. All feeling exhilarated but tired from the exercise!

Just what you need amidst the festive break. Looks like you chose a lovely day to get out. I hope Daddy enjoyed his football as much as the children enjoyed their fresh air. Thank you for sharing with me on Country Kids

Thank you 🙂 I think he did! But it wasn’t as much fun as a trip outside!xx

Awww I suddenly miss going to playground with my son. We have been staying a lot indoors as well due to the cold weather. #countrykids

We have too- it’s been so damp and when its not raining its so cold – so it was lovely to finally have a milder day when we could get outside :-)xx
