Fun Heart Facts for Kids Poster

Rachel’s homework this week was to do a mini project on an organ in the body – either the lungs, brain or heart.
She chose the heart so we made a large poster with facts and images.

Here are the heart facts for kids that we found:

1. The heart pumps blood around the body.
2. Electricity makes the heart pump.
3. Your heart is in your chest.
4. On average you heart beats 100,000 times a day
5. Your heart is made up of 4 chambers – left and right atrium
– left and right ventricle
6. Arteries and veins are like tubes inside your body.
7. Your heart pumps blood around the body through the arteries and veins.
8. The thump sound your heart makes is made by the 4 valves in your heart closing.
9. Your heart is about the size of your fist.
10. Your heart weighs about the same as a can of pop or carton of juice.

We printed out heart shapes we found on Picmonkey and wrote one fact in each heart.
We centred them around a picture of the heart we found on Shutterstock.
Finally, she made her own title on Picmonkey and we glued them all onto an A2 piece of red card.
Why don’t you make your own fun facts posters?
