Getting messy with gloop!
The idea of the children getting messy or making a mess practically gives me heart palpitations and those who know me well, know that I am not particularly houseproud! I can just about cope with the messiness of painting, but recently, I have seen so many of my blogger friends enjoying messy play with their children that it has encouraged me to be a bit less precious and let my monsters go a bit more wild! Here is our messiest activity to-date! GLOOP We got messy with gloop! Thanks to Ciara at Our Little House in the Country we are finding loads of great “recipes” for fun activities! Here is what we used :
We had loads of fun mixing it all up. You can add as much or as little as you like of the ingredients to get the consistency you want and we had great fun trying out different consistencies!
Then we slopped it all over! I had laid out loads of paper so it wouldn’t go on the floor, but Jack still ended up covered! We dripped the thick gloop on the paper, and when it was runny we made it rain everywhere! We used our hands to smooth it on the paper and then I helped Jack to write his name in it! Then he got really stuck in – feet and everything! Great fun!
Keep an eye out for more of our messy activities – if I am brave enough to do any more!!

My son loves gloop. We’ve only done it once at home….thankfully he gets lots of messy play at nursery so I can avoid the cleaning up issues afterwards!

Wow, what a lot of fun. Messy play is definitely a winner with kids and it does look like your big enjoyed it and got stuck in with his feet too! It’s messy, and needs cleaning up, but I think it’s usually worth it.
