Today we baked Chocolate Brownies, with added chocolate chips!
We followed the recipe for Classic Chocolate Brownies from Cadburys website – although we omitted the cocoa powder – accidentally! – and added a packet of chocolate chips.
I let the children decide on what we would be baking and they debated between flapjacks and chocolate brownies. But the brownies won the toss, mainly as we had no porridge oats!
Here is the recipe we used:
First we melted the chocolate and butter together in the microwave.
Then we cracked the eggs and mixed them in with the sugar.
Then we put it all together and mixed it in, adding the flour as well.
Finally we mixed in half of the chocolate drops, poured it into the silicone cake mould, and topped with the rest of the chocolate drops.
Then we cooked it in a preheated oven at 180ºC for 25 minutes.
