I saw a really simple recipe for homemade bounty bars on Facebook from Aldi Mum, so decided to give it a go.
I mean, I love chocolate bars but particularly love Bounties. Sadly (for them) the kids aren’t keen on coconut but that means all the more for me and daddy!!
We didn’t have any condensed milk, which was called for in the recipe I had seen, so I decided to make my own twist on the recipe, using ingredients that we did have in the cupboards.
100g dessicated coconut
125ml coconut cream
60g icing sugar
150g white chocolate
Mix the coconut, coconut cream and icing sugar together.
Roll into sausage shapes and pop into the freezer to harden for about half an hour.
Meanwhile break the chocolate into pieces and melt over a pan of boiling water (making sure the water doesn’t touch the bowl as white chocolate can seize really easily).
Take the coconut “sausages” out of the freezer and drizzle the white chocolate over the top.
Pop into the fridge to chill.
Then they are ready to eat, and pretty yummy in my book – although rather sickly so it’s probably good to share them!!
