Toronto is a great city to visit with your family. Even in the winter! There is plenty to do and see and we were lucky enough to visit the city this Easter with Grandad.
Our top 4 things to do, when you visit Toronto with kids, are as follows:
1. CN tower. We took a trip up the CN tower and admired the amazing views from the top. We also braved the glass floor, and marvelled at how fast the lift was!
2. Day trip to Niagara Falls. We found a trip on Viator and enjoyed a full days tour with our very knowledgable guide. In the winter months the boat tour to the falls doesn’t run so we got to do the trip down behind the falls instead. The views from the restaurant were amazing!
3. Ripley’s Aquarium. The aquarium is great and you can buy a bundle ticket online for the CN tower and Aquarium entry which actually does make it cheaper! There is a small play area in the centre and the moving walkway under the shark tank is pretty impressive!
4. Toronto Islands. Take a ferry over to the Islands and enjoy beaches, play areas, walkways, wildlife. I can only imagine how much more fun the Islands are in the height of the season when everything is open and fully operational.
Other places to visit are the Toronto Sign, the Royal Ontario Museum, the Black Creek Pioneer village (sadly this wasn’t open over Easter, but opens from May to October and looks fab!), as well as the mall, and negotiating the 30km of underground walkways, shopping centres and food courts know as the PATH. Also, for sports fans, Toronto has a number of great teams you can watch play if you are lucky enough to be there when they are in town – including the Bluejays baseball team, the Raptors basketball team and the Maple Leafs ice hockey team!
